This week I’m singing with Karin Ström
July 14, 2008
Way back in the 90’s I read a book called “Bensin”. The author was a girl my age, Karin Ström, and she wrote about her life in London, as an aspiring artist. Now, years later, Karin has not only released a critically acclaimed album, she’s got another one on the way.
I’m happy to present this week’s guest artist: Karin Ström

Karin Ström was born in Kristianstad, a small town in the south of Sweden. She always wanted to be a singer. At the age of 13 she started writing her first songs. 20 years old she moved to London, where she got signed to the Canadian record label Nettwerk which led her to relocate to Los Angeles. Here, she released a self titled five track EP (US, Canada, UK and Sweden) with lyrics in English.
Back in Stockholm she wrote, produced and recorded the EP “Sneda Ögons EP” in the autumn of 2005, and released it on her own label Datadamen Records. Datadamen (originally Karin’s DJ name) means Computer Lady, and this marked a change of Karin’s sound from organic and guitarbased to electronic and computerized. She also switched languages and now sings in Swedish. The 24th of January 2007 Karin released her first full length album “En saga om en sten”.
This week’s guest artist: William Crafoord
July 7, 2008
When William called me on his way over to shoot this video, he asked me if he should bring a red clown’s nose. As it turned out he didn’t, but it might have been great fun, and the fact that he thought of this says a lot about him as an artist and performer. You could easily say William isn’t afraid of making anything a show. This is why I’m so happy to announce him as this week’s guest artist.
William Crafoord is an old time idol of mine. When I was about 12 William had a Swedish rap band called “Just D“. It’s safe to say I had all their albums and was somewhat obsessed
Anyway, William has come a long way since then and has released several albums, both as part of the group “Just D” and as a solo artist.
Lately William has put together several musical and theatrical shows, with well known artists such as Salem al Fakir as well as with his dog Django (who also participates in this video). Here you’ll see him singing my song “Clown” from my upcoming album “Jonestown” with me. Enjoy!

Sofia Talvik / Tom Levin - Arms and armour
Tom’s teenage years took him to Alaska, where he lived as an exchange student. It was here that his vocal talents were first discovered when the host family’s daughter heard him singing in the shower. Urged on by the host family’s belief in his abilities, Tom made his debut as a soloist in the school choir. But when Tom returned to Sweden, he put his music on the back shelf and started studying economics.
In June 2007 Tom’s song “Please disturb me” reach 4 reached 4 on AC/hot AC/New Music Weekly in the USA and it reached 3 on Independent Music Networks Mainstream.
On the 12th of December 2006 Tom Levin’s song “Just” reached 1 on New Music Weekly’s radio charts in the US (specifically the AC/Hot AC Main Chart and AC/Hot AC Indie Chart), and has to date been 1 for four consequtive weeks.”Just” also reached 8 on the Hot 100 Chart / New Music Weekly, and the Top 100 Chart / Friday Morning Quarter Back / ACQB.
Tom’s new album “Unfair in my favor” was released on June 11.
Guest artist Jonna Lee
June 20, 2008
The 27th of August, I’m releasing my third album “Jonestown”. To give you a preview of the songs from the album I have gathered 12 of my favorite Swedish artists who will each perform one song from the album live with me on tape. Once a week a new video is released, with a new song and a new guest artist. You will get the opportunity to meet well known artists as well as up and coming new stars, and when the videos are all released we’ll turn it into a competition where you can win a set of 13 albums, one from each guest artist, and of course my new album “Jonestown”. First you’ll meet Jonna Lee, and be sure to stay tuned to see who comes next.
(ps the album is not a duet album, the videos are exclusive versions of the songs ds)
Sofia Talvik / Jonna Lee - Diamonds
song: Diamonds
album: Jonestown
guest artist: Jonna Lee
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Jonna Lee:
* She made a whole electro album last year, but changed her mind in time for release because “it didn’t feel right”.
* After that, she wrote, recorded, and produced “10 pieces, 10 bruises” under 2007 (with Claes Björklund)
* She wrote the song “And your love” with Ed Harcourt in mind, sent him the song and then recorded it as a duet a few weeks later.

That 70’s feeling.
September 25, 2007
My producer Tobias Fröberg is bringing a new sound to the next album “Jonestown”. Today he even brought some extra 70’s feeling to the studio, a cozy psychedelic lamp to go with the music. Well I think it did the trick. I’m in the groove so keep an eye and an ear out for more upcoming news about it all.
I’ll try to post a tune for you all later.
Here’s a video of the lamp:
